Hi, I’m Allie—the photographer behind Alexandria Peterson Photo.

My journey began in high school when my dad handed me his old Olympus OM-1. That camera unlocked something deep in me—a love of documenting moments as they unfold: messy, tender, honest. With a background in fine art, I’ve always been drawn to images that feel timeless, textured, and full of soul. I shoot both film and digital with the goal of capturing photographs that feel like they’ve already lived a lifetime.

My work is inspired by movement, emotion, and nostalgia—the way a breeze lifts a veil, a tear slips down a cheek, a laugh echoes across a sun-drenched room. I want your photos to feel like you—not posed or perfect, but honest and full of life.

Whether I’m photographing a wedding day, a maternity session, or a quiet moment between a mama and her baby, I approach each session with the intention to create art and the hope of connection. Clients often tell me I bring a sense of calm to the day—which I take as the highest compliment. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, understood, and fully yourself.

One of my favorite sessions ever was a maternity shoot with a local LA mom. I was pregnant at the time too—just six weeks behind her—and that shared experience brought a whole new level of intimacy to our time together. We were two first-time moms, both expectant and vulnerable, co-creating something soft and powerful.

Outside of photography, I’m a new mom navigating parenthood, a farmers’ market regular, and a Pilates enthusiast (I’ve even considered becoming an instructor!). And if you love adventure, we’ll get along just fine—I once bungee-jumped off one of the tallest bridges in South Africa! I give all the Glory to Jesus and trust in Him fully with my life and business!
